About
Chelsie Silveira, LCSW
I have been practicing clinical social work for about 15 years and have worked with people from all different backgrounds and all walks of life. I have worked with all ages and I specialize in helping people who struggle with anxiety which can often lead to depression or can be a result of past trauma. People often come to me when they are struggling in their relationships, their ability to sleep or their ability to complete tasks at school or work. My clients often come to me because they want to stop worrying, overcome their fears or they want to be confident in themselves again.
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy interventions, Dialectical Behavior Therapy interventions, Exposure Response Prevention and I am also trained in Brainspotting which is often used to treat individuals who have experienced past trauma or negative experiences which are causing anxiety/fear and depression. I am trained in a number of modalities because I find anxiety can manifest for a number of reasons. When I am working with young children, I also typically work concurrently with parents in supporting their child through their struggles.
When choosing a therapist, I understand how it is important for some people to know a little bit more personal information. Since I work with a lot of children, families, parents, or younger adults who want to start a family, I find it important to tell people that I have been married for almost 15 years, I have two children and in my role as a therapist, I never teach a new skill or parenting strategy I have not first tried myself.
